Potter Sequel Grows Darker

There is some big news coming from Britain. In a live interview with J.K. Rowling, it was revealed that at least two more major characters will die in the seventh, and final installment of the Harry Potter series. Many are suggesting that it would be convenient for Rowling to kill off Harry, as to prevent people from writing sequels to her books. Mugglenet, which has a link on the right side of the page, has links to the video of the interview, and touches on some more of the high points. Finally, we are told that the book is well under way. The final chapter of the book has been written for several years, and locked in a safe in an undisclosed location. The final word of the last chapter is still said to be 'scar,' which keeps the mind flowing with dramatic possibilities. The next review I will do will be on 'The Camel Club,' by David Baldacci. I have 150 pages left, but it may take awhile, as I am off having fun at Rogers Scholars Camp.

Here They Are

This final one here, by the co-author of HBHG is my personal favorite. He accused Dan Brown of copying him, what is this!?!?!?!? I know Newsweek isn't copying The Da Vinci Code, but they are trying to get in on the hype. Happy Reading!!

Spot The Fakes

Can You Spot the Fakes? Tomorrow I will post them. This picture was taken at a book store in the Salt Lake City Airport, while I was on my way back from Alaska. They are all copying or trying to make money off of the Da Vinci Craze (I can say that because they all have copyright dates post Da Vinci Code). Happy hunting!

Ohh! A dramatic moment. I reall like the way this shot was set up so that the Mona Lisa was right behind them, almost as if she was watching everything play out.

Ahh Sir Leigh Teabing. McKlellan was a great choice for this character, but I felt that the high tech room etc. were a little over the top. Exactly what was he studying with a microscope? It did look good. I thought the dialogue in that scene of the movie was a bit twisted from the original. At most bookstores they now have illustrated screenplays available. The hardcover copy is outrageous. It was $50. The paperback copy was nice, and it was only $25. They are about the size of the illustrated editions of the books.

THE Movie

Robert Langdon, (Tom Hanks) in the final scene of the movie. There was some cool filming, going through the glass etc.

I like the casting for Silas. Paul Bettany did a good job. If you can't put your finger on where you last saw him, it was probably in another great movie, A Beautiful Mind. (He was Charles, the imaginary college friend.) It might have been a good touch for him to have worn red contacts, furthering the albino gig.

I have more still pictures and comments to come, including a real review.

JK Rowling Voted Britian's Greatest Author

No suprise here, but JK Rowling was voted Britian's Greatest author. If you don't know this, you ought to be put away, but Rowling is the author of 6 best selling Harry Potter novels. The seventh, and final installment is anticipated for the summer of 2007. Rowling took the vote, nearly tripling the number of votes for second place. No need for a recount there! Updates

Okay everyone, I hope you will all welcome me back into the blog world. I haven't posted for quite some time. Part of that has to do with an overload of end-of-the-year school work, and that the day after school was out I flew off for a week in Alaska. That was great, and I will surely post several of my photographs. Now, I'm back, and ready to go. I will start posting more often. I started by posting two new links. I love to read the 'Oddly Enough' News. Happy reading!!!

PS the next book post will be about The Grapes of Wrath.

OHOHOHOHOH and I saw the Da Vinci Code movie!! I love it. Lots to come....
