The World Is Flat-- Thomas Friedman
This book was a bit of a different genre from the literature I normally pick up at my favorite book stop. The front cover has a sub note that says "a brief history of the twenty-first century." Brief isn't the word I would use for this 470 page 'look-back' on the time between Y2K, and March 2004. Don't take that the wrong way, and let me lead you to believe that this book drags, because it doesn't, but it does help to be interested in the subject. I guess I should tell you what the subject is, since that is what the whole purpose for this blog is....
This book analyzes the effects of globalization on our lives, and how technology has 'flattened' the earth. It looks back on the aforementioned years, and speculates on what will go into the history books about that time.
I find this book very interesting, and hope this review isn't too ambiguous. Of course, I shouldn't give away too much, people just need a little taste, that leaves them hungry for more.
